For the majority of UK Mainland postcode addresses, orders will be packed, and shipped by economy two/three day delivery system , or by own transport,with drivers employed by Carpenters of York Ltd.
The standard charge is £68 per consignment pallet/s.
This is, however, subject to any increase charges relating to certain postcodes areas of the mainland and we would refer you to the listing below, to check if there is going to be any additional excess to the standard delivery charge.
DELIVERY BY OUR OWN TRANSPORT
We have our own drivers employed by the company, to deliver the majority of our product. The driver is there to help with offloading difficulties that can, sometimes concern the purchaser,
How heavy is my consignment, will it be left out in the weather, can it be brought into the house and stacked correctly, is this all taken care of and in the price--
the answer is YES!

We do not want any problems for our customers, especially at delivery stage--this can cause worry and upset for all parties, as we are talking about a purchase weighing considerably more than an average mail order puchase. Our men are there to help!.
However, please do not ask them to carry parcels onto first floor or above, the accepted delivery is made to ground floor only, but inside if possible and acceptable to the driver. Unlike other couriers, dropping at kerbside only, we will try to accommodate any sensible suggestion of drop area, but at the same time also advise on whether an area is unsuitable--this can be important in the case of new build or site work, please take the advice as experienced help to protect your new flooring, from harm.
The company trusts that you will appreciate that all efforts are made to completely satisfy your delivery requirements and that the product arrives in the best of condition and stacked for your convenience.
SMALL ITEMS; Free Gifts and other Promotional Products listed, if ordered and included WITH heavy goods, will travel as an included cost with the standard pallet. A small item sent by courier seperately, will be quoted and agreed first, before shipment.
NEXT DAY delivery or a timed delivery, if required, for the heavy goods, will be an additional charge of £50 per consignment---N.B. please refer to postcode areas that do NOT apply to these terms and will be quoted as a seperate transaction--please speak to the sales department for a quotation-call 01977 678669.
LONG ITEMS UP TO MAXIMUM 2.4 METRES LONG;
We receive many orders for long length accessories, e.g. beads,skirtings,architraves etc (which are very welcome)
If you require the longer lengths of accessories SENT with your general order of timber etc. we will quote you the additional cost, if any, over the standard single pallet rate, because the pallet size may have to move up to a double size.

All online orders will be acknowledged by return via email. The acknowledgement will list the products you ordered and will be given a Cart ID number. The cart number can be 'order tracked' through our system at any time, if there is a query regarding delivery.
Our Sales Team will contact you to confirm details of payment on your order and the goods packed and shipped at the agreed time for you or the following day, but always after discussion with yourself to confirm you can accept the goods.
If any products are out of stock you will be notified at the same time and/or via email.
If your consignment is sent by outside couriers employed by the company, PHOTOGRAPHS OF YOUR CONSIGNMENT ARE FORWARDED TO YOU BY FIRST CLASS POST, TO SHOW YOU THE SIZE OF THE CONSIGNMENT AND TO ACT AS PROOF OF ITEMS PACKED AS ORDERED, AND TO BE DELIVERED THROUGH OUR CARRIERS.
We believe this is a unique service by our company, which is important for both parties to protect the goods by your complete knowledge of what should be inside your pallet and to make claim with the carrier, if anything is missing.

POSTCODE AREAS WITH EXCESS CHARGES
The following postcode areas and offshore islands will have an additional delivery charge added to the standard single or double pallet terms. Any excess charges will be clarified and agreed with you before despatch of your order.
Postcode areas with increased quoted rates are as follows;
(AB,DD,IV,KW,PA20 ,PH,ZE), DG, EH, FK, G,KA, KY, ML, PA1-19, TD, plus all offshore islands.
The excess charges will be kept to a minimum cost, and negotiated by our company with the carrier to get the BEST price possible, which will be passed onto you without additions.

Deliveries are made by outside carrier, or by our own transport, and all frieght is fully insured against damage or loss.
DELIVERIES BY OUTSIDE COURIERS.
The deliveries made by couriers will be to the postcodes noted above, where the excess mileage is prohibitve on our own transport, and procedures of the conditions have to alter to allow their terms and conditions to apply.
Flooring deliveries are made to the 'kerb side' only, and the driver will require help in offloading the consignment to this point.
It must be noted that COURIER drivers are not allowed to carry any parcels into the property of a purchaser. They are not covered by any insurance policy to enter your property, and would only do so at their own risk.
PLEASE NOTE, that if you require any special instructions advising the carrier to be able to make a satisfactory single delivery, without the need for returning the goods to the yard, because you may be out, or at work, please make these arrangements with the sales team at the time of ordering, and that information will be given to the carrier for their driver use.
To help in this matter, the delivery can be scheduled for an AM. or PM. delivery, or on a next day or a specific working day, however, these scheduled times will add a further charge of £10 per consignment. If the goods have to be returned back to you from the delivery yard, i.e. making a second delivery albeit the consignment had been delivered as arranged, an extra charge may be made for this double handling. It will also be assumed, that unless advised accordingly, the delivery address is fully accessible by a large lorry, if not, please inform us of the problem at the time of ordering. Deliveries into London and major cities can be restrictive for making deliveries, and any information concerning the possible difficulties of delivery should be noted with our sales team, for the carrier to make the necessary arrangements to complete your satisfactory delivery.
The more handling of the product, can cause possible damage to your goods. We do not have deliveries made from any other source or direct from a manufacturer. The stocks are all held at our own warehousing, packed and shipped from there. Orders are shipped to your instructions, after the order is confirmed and fully paid, most deliveries are made within 3 working days.
It is unlikely that any damage will be found at the time of shipping, due to double inspection by our warehouse staff and photographs taken of the actual product and consignment pallet, however, any damage and/or missing items, noticed at time of delivery, must be noted on the carrier's documents, and also reported to us by email or in writing within 24 hours delivery. Claims CANNOT be made with regard to damage and/or missing items from the consignment, AFTER 24 hours from delivery. The delivery notes must be signed by a responsible person and any damage and/or missing item noted at the time of delivery.
SPECIAL ORDERS AND BACK ORDERS
HAND FINISHED PRODUCTS MANUFACTURED BY THE COMPANY.
PLEASE NOTE THAT RETURNS OF ANY HANDFINISHED PRODUCT MANUFACTURED BY CARPENTERS OF YORK LTD , WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE RETURNED FOR CREDIT OR REFUND OR EXCHANGE, IF THE REASON IS RELATIVE TO COLOUR OR TEXTURE AND IS NOT ACCEPTED BY THE BUYER.
THE COMPANY WILL ONLY ACCEPT THE CONTRACT TO MAKE THE ORDER HAVING FIRST PROVIDED A SAMPLE TO THE BUYER AND THAT THE BUYER FULLY REALIZES THAT THE SAMPLE COLOUR OR TEXTURE SUFACE MAY ALTER IN THE FINAL FINISH RELATIVE TO THE VARIANTS OF QUALITY OF EACH NATURAL BOARD, AND THAT ANY CONTRACT IS ONLY FORMED ON THAT UNDERSTANDING AND NO RETURNS WILL BE ACCEPTED. PLEASE DISCUSS THIS CLAUSE WITH OUR SALES TEAM TO MAKE SURE ALL PARTIES FULLY UNDERSTAND THE TERMS OF ORDERING A HAND FINISHED PRODUCT, MANUFACTURED BY THE COMPANY.
Where stock is not available at the time of ordering you will be notified by email. The outstanding goods, if still required, when we receive the stock item, will be shipped with a delivery charge if necessary or as terms/conditions above, at an agreed time with yourself.
If storage, in our warehousing is required by a customer, full payment of the order including any delivery charges and VAT must be made at the time of ordering, and the storage will be free of charge in our warehousing for one calendar month only. After one month from invoice date any goods still stored may be charged, at our discretion.. We will always try and oblige with storage of your goods.
PLANNING AHEAD
We suggest, for peace of mind, that you do not schedule any installation work until a few days after the expected delivery date. This will enable you to resolve any technical questions or to order specific additional fittings as necessary.
