The distressing on this production of antique 120mm oak is just right. Not too much, to spoil the solid oak wood floor board and create too many damaged areas on one piece, but just enough to give the look we wanted when designing it. The colour is perfect fitting in with the traditional brown that wax finishing would have produced. The solid oak wood floor boards are satin lacquered and are at the correct gloss levels. The edges of the boards are damaged and smoothed off for safety. Varied lengths up to 1800mm and at 120mm x 18mm this solid oak wood floor is one of the best productions we have sold..

The handscraping is finished by hand, carved & scraped with the type of designed tooling made over 400 years ago, and then final distressing of each board is then undertaken by skilled operatives, who know their woodgrain and create the final 'olde' look of fully distressed oak. The surface is then finished with five coats of stained UV lacquer. Very hard wearing. This is not just any old handscraped oak floor, this is a Dales Oak Handscraped floor! WE MUST DRAW YOUR ATTENTION TO THE NEW RECOMMENDATION REGARDING ACCLIMATIZING THE PRODUCT BEFORE LAYING. THE MINIMUM TIME LEFT IN THE PACKS, WITHIN YOUR ROOM ENVIROMENT SHOULD BE 3 WEEKS AND EVEN AFTER THIS PERIOD IT IS ADVISABLE TO GET YOUR FITTER TO CHECK THE IDEAL MOISTURE LEVELS, WHICH SHOULD BE FROM 8% TO 11% MOISTURE CONTENT READING. ALSO WE WISH TO POINT OUT AND MAKE CLEAR TO YOU THAT HARDWOOD TIMBER BEING A NATURAL PRODUCT THE COLOUR MAY VARY THROUGHOUT THE MIXTURE OF PRODUCT, AND THIS CONFORMS WITH BRITISH STANDARDS RECOMMENDATIONS.
