The distressing on this production of antique 120mm oak is just right. Not too much, to spoil the solid oak wood floor board and create too many damaged areas on one piece, but just enough to give the look we wanted when designing it. The colour is perfect fitting in with the traditional brown that wax finishing would have produced. The solid oak wood floor boards are satin lacquered and are at the correct gloss levels. The edges of the boards are damaged and smoothed off for safety. Varied lengths up to 1800mm and at 120mm x 18mm this solid oak wood floor is one of the best productions we have sold..

The Dovedale was created by our Managing Director over ten years ago when hand finishing was very rare and he had a client wanting a unique floor that would imitate a 400 year floor of old. He created Dovedale from blending hardwax oil stains and creating the famous 'soot' lines, where the dust would have been swept down the joints, in times gone by. The Dovedale is now our largest range of one design with more being added as interesting oak boards come from the mills.
