Hand finished in hardwax oils the ultimate surface for oak.
Modern living can and usually does, knock the stuffing out of wooden floors, even the tough oak floors. However, over the past few years a band of reputable manufacturers in Europe have been testing what is now known as hardwax oil. The hardwax oil secret, if there is one, is natural oils from nature and wax, blended together to achieve the ultimate surface for oak, eco friendly and the finest of waterproof, stain resistant and hardwearing surfaces you wish to walk on, and when you get down to feel the surface, you will be amazed how smooth it is, non slip, but smooth!
This production of clear hardwax oil finishes is on sale as a special launch range featuring the sanded and the brushed textured surfaces of oak, with two coats of hardwax oil clear top coat, applied by power buffing into the oak surface. This gives a satin sheen, non slip, surface that will last many tens of years with the light maintenance of a refresher now and then, to freshen the surface back again when thousands of feet have pounded the floor throughout the years.
This board is a solid oak of rustic grading, with plenty of character, knots and shakes all filled, a small bevel to all four sides of the plank, and tongue and grooved with ends matched. The machining is by our Dales Oak mill and is perfect to within 1% tolerance, and can be fitted by anyone, without the need for specialist tools and a sledgehammer!!
At Dales Oak we pride ourselves on accurate machining and it is imperative that amateur and professional feel happy with the way the planks fit and the variety of lengths to create a wonderful random laid floor. Random lengths between 400mm - 1400mm.
The Dales hardwax oil collection is available from February/March 2010 and we have been asking you to reserve your requirements, on the very special launch prices of this superb flooring.
The first finishing will be completed and ready for delivery after the 5th March, all sold out, and then we wait for a further production coming in the beginning of April and orders are being reserved for this production, NOW. There is over 1800 square metres. Prices have had to increase slightly, but we can give the extra 10% off for early ordering.
